Forex demo contest 2021

Demo competition brings the opportunity for all forex traders to trade without any cash deposit. As many users have now observed, the improvements we’ve made in V2 over V1 have been significant. The aesthetic and functionality both received a major upgrade, and order throughout, with the help of the limit order mining operations, has increased meaningfully. We are continuing to implement feature improvements based upon the community feedback, and are excited to roll out the next two stages of the product (slippage; market orders) over the course of this month.

To celebrate the launch of V2, unitrade is organizing a trading competition where the top-50 traders will win prizes!

We bel i eve this is a great incentive to attract new users to our platform — as well as previous V1 users — to see what V2 is all about. We’re confident that when users see just how easy it is to place limit orders (and market orders!) on unitrade, they won’t want to leave our platform. In turn, this positive user experience will result in organic, viral marketing that attracts even more users into our ecosystem.

Without further ado, the details and fine print:

Beginning: 1/4/21 at 12:00am CST (monday)

Ending: 1/17/21 at 11:59pm CST (sunday)

Start placing limit orders on unitrade V2 (https://unitrade.App) AFTER MIDNIGHT 1/4/21 (CST)

Performance will be measured by tracking the total volume of limit orders successfully executed per wallet address

Wallets with the highest order volume fulfilled at the end of the 14-day trading competition will receive prize winnings (in ETH)

Results will be tracked LIVE on a leaderboard, with each wallet tied to a specific unitrade avatar (for bragging purposes)

1st place: $4,000

2nd place: $2,000

3rd place: $1,000

4th-20th: $100 each.

21st-50th: $50 each.

Total winners: 50

Total prizes: $10,200

Hyliion is attractive after a correction, but faces competition

HYLN stock is a good trading bet at current levels, but there are significant risks

Editor’s note: this article was updated on jan. 19, 2021, to add information about hyliion’s EV range.

Any idea related to clean energy has attracted investor attention in the last few quarters, with electric vehicle stocks in the forefront. Hyliion holdings (NYSE: HYLN ) stock is among the SPAC listings that skyrocketed last year. From an initial price of $10, HYLN stock surged to near $56. A sharp correction ensued, and the stock currently trades at $16.40.

Purely from a short-term trading perspective, I believe that HYLN stock is at attractive levels. I would not be surprised if the stock delivers a quick return of 15% to 20%. However, I would still not categorize the stock as an attractive long-term investment idea.

Hyliion intends to position itself as a provider of electrified solutions for the commercial vehicle industry. The company’s commercialization of its hypertruck is due in the current year with volume production planned for 2022.

From an industry perspective, commercial electric vehicles are at a point of inflection. Over the next decade, the adoption of commercial EV will increase significantly, with a projected compound annual growth rate of 41%.

Hyliion believes that 8 million trucks are in operation and this implies a replacement market opportunity of approximately $800 billion. Therefore, there are reasons to be bullish and it’s not surprising that there are multiple new entrants in the commercial EV market.

The intense competition headwind

In their financial projections, hyliion expects sales (hybrid electric unit and hypertruck) of 300 units for the current year. Unit sales is guided to increase to 34,500 units with revenue of $2.1 billion by 2024. I believe that these projections are very optimistic. A significant correction for HYLN stock indicates that the markets might also be expecting a slower progress. One reason for being cautiously optimistic is competition.

CIIG merger (NASDAQ: CIIC ) recently announced a business combination agreement with arrival, which is also in the commercial EV business. Arrival has orders worth $1.2 billion from U.S. Postal service with strategic partners that include hyundai (OTCMKTS: HYMTF ) and kia motors. The company has an exciting product pipeline that includes electric bus and electric van. In addition, arrival is creating micro factories to enable low-cost production.

If I was compelled to choose between hyliion and arrival, I would be inclined to invest in the latter for the long term. The business model looks more promising on a relative basis.

And arrival is not the only company. Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA ) is also targeting the commercial EV segment with its truck. Workhorse (NASDAQ: WKHS ) claims to have technology validation from companies like fedex (NYSE: FDX ) and united parcel service (NYSE: UPS ). Workhorse is also expecting an order worth $6.3 billion from the postal service.

It is worth pointing out that hyliion’s vehicles have a much longer range. That could give it an edge.

Overall, I believe that it makes sense to treat most commercial EV stocks as near- to medium-term trading bets. Once orders start flowing, there will be a clear distinction between the leaders and the laggards. HYLN stock is a good trading bet at current levels.

Concluding thoughts on HYLN stock

Hyliion claims that the company’s truck has a seven-year total cost of ownership that’s lower than that of tesla and nikola (NASDAQ: NKLA ). With the business combination, hyliion is well capitalized to move towards the commercialization of hybrid and hypertruck ERX.

It remains to be seen if the company can secure big orders. In june 2020, logistics company agility, pre-ordered 1,000 trucks. This is however discounted in the stock price.

HYLN stock has cooled off after an initial exuberance. This is an indication of market participants taking a cautious stance. I expect the stock to bounce back in the near term. So, it’s a good trading bet.

But it’s too early to consider HYLN stock for the core portfolio. I would hold the same view for NKLA stock and WKHS stock.

It’s been more than 10 days since the flamingo perp trading competition launched. The competition has attracted more than 500 participants globally to join and provide meaningful feedback discussion regarding multiple aspects of the perp protocol. The flamingo team would like to thank all community members for the generous support and feedback.

The main objective of the competition is to comp r ehensively test the robustness of the protocol and gather valuable feedback from users before the official launch. With still a few more days before the conclusion of the competition, several bugs and UI inefficiencies have already been reported and the team is currently working on the following:

Introduction

The BMO financial group finance research and trading lab is pleased to present our 9 th annual rotman online trading competition (ROTC). This competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students at the university of toronto (st. George, mississauga and scarborough campus). Students will participate in teams of two and trade two different cases. The competition will take place online on saturday, january 23 rd , 2021. The top 2 performing teams (4 students in total) will be invited to form the university of toronto team at the rotman international trading competition - celebration edition (RITC-CE) 2021 , which will take place on friday, february 19 th , 2021.

Registration

Registration deadline: monday, january 11th, 2021 at 11:59 pm EST

You must register in teams of 2 people in order to participate; we will not accept registrations from individual students. Only one member needs to register for the team.

You will receive an email when the competition case package and the practice servers are made available.

You will receive an email 1-2 days before the competition begins with your username and password that will allow you to log-in to the correct RIT server being used for the competition. Please do not lose this information as you will not be able to compete without it. Our lab staff cannot assure that username and password are retrieved/reset in case someone loses them.

Rotman interactive trader (RIT)

Rotman online trading competition will be executed using the RIT software. For traders/competitors who are unfamiliar with this software, the RIT's official website gives detailed instructions and allows you to download RIT onto your computer. On the RIT website you will find a demo of the software as well as tutorial videos .

The competition will be held online on saturday, january 23 rd , 2021 from 2:00 pm EST to approximately 4:00 pm EST. It will run until each of the heats described in the ROTC case package document is completed.

There is no registration fee. Traders/competitors are required to use their own computers during the competition. Since this is an online competition, internet speed can affect your performance. Each participant is responsible for ensuring the internet connection and stability of the workstation. The rotman finance lab is not responsible for any network crash or for performance resulting from a competitor’s poor internet connection.
